T4 DNA Polymerase catalyzes the synthesis of DNA in the 5'-3' direction and requires the presence of templates and primers, and T4 DNA Polymerase has 3'→5' exonuclease activity but does not have 5'→3' exonuclease activity.

Product Application

T4 DNA Polymerase can be used as followed:

1. Catalyze the blunt ends of the 5' or 3' protruding ends of DNA.

2. Labeled DNA probe synthesis by a displacement reaction.

3. Synthesis of the second chain during fixed-point mutation.

4. Cloning of PCR products that do not depend on ligation reactions.

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will incorporate 10 nmol of dNTP into polynucleotides in 30 minutes at 37°C.
